Community & Charitable Initiatives
The Xuanling Lineage is a member of the China Small Animal Protection Association. In keeping with the Lineage’s cultural heritage, we make direct donations to animal rescue organizations and regularly organize charitable initiatives among our members and community.
Our most significant annual charitable observance is held during the
Xiayuan Festival (Festival of the Water Official)—a traditional Daoist festival observed on the 15th day of the 10th lunar month,
honoring the divine guardian who dissolves hardship and grants relief to all living beings.
On this day, the Xuanling Lineage conducts three key activities:
- Xiayuan Ceremonial Rite for Well-Being
A formal observance dedicated to the well-being of all living beings, conducted within the traditional framework honoring the Water Official, who presides over the dissolution of hardship and misfortune.
- Xuanling Ceremonial Rite for Safeguarding
A dedicated rite for the small animals of our members who are experiencing illness or difficulty, with ceremonial petitions presented for their stability and safe passage through adversity.
- Points Donation Program
Once each year, members receive an inquiry email. With explicit consent, 1% of the remaining points balance may be converted into a monetary donation and contributed, together with the Lineage’s annual donation, to recognized animal welfare organizations. Participation is entirely voluntary.
All donation records and event documentation are publicly shared to ensure full transparency and accountability.
