The Grandmaster of the Xuanling Lineage is the highest keeper of its tradition, a role held in each generation by the chief Spiritual Ritual Master. Today, the Xuanling Lineage has been passed down through fifty-six generations.

Under the guidance of the 56th Grandmaster, a thousand years of Daoist wisdom flows naturally into contemporary life. Rooted in the classical tradition of Chinese Daoist thought, the Lineage places ever greater emphasis on harmony between humanity and nature — advocating reverence for the natural world, the protection of all living beings, and the thoughtful exploration of humanity's rightful place within it.
